A snowmobile is seen under a full moon, on Vatnajokull Glacier in Iceland
On assignment for National Geographic, I was photographing the interior of Iceland with the intent of conveying the remoteness of this beautiful landscape. I was working with scientists who were camped out on Vatnajokull Glacier, the largest and most voluminous ice cap in Iceland. Vatnajokull covered almost 8% of the country, a massive piece of ice. One team member had ridden his snowmobile back to the main camp to pick up supplies, I saw him as he approached our ice station, and felt this was a perfect photo to convey the remoteness of Iceland’s interior,
